Jul 17, 2021 at 14:25 comment added JJJ Mod Yea, I'm not sure what the objection is to the notice in those cases. In both cases there were a lot of unnecessary comments. For example that question has 82 deleted comments at the moment. Some were addressing legitimate issues about the post while others were rather unfriendly back and froths that focused on users (or some broader political debate) rather than the post. That'' what the notice aims to prevent.

Jul 17, 2021 at 4:04 comment added JJJ Mod Are you referring to any posts in particular? As for off-topic posts, there are of course other mechanisms which work regardless of the notice: downvoting, closing, flagging as low quality and voting to delete.
